Charity Support

Nottingham Patchwork Group has supported many local, national and international charities over the years; not just by giving money but also donating quilts, cushions and other items that group members have made. Whilst some of these items have been used to raise funds quilts have often been passed to someone for them to use in the hope that it gives them some comfort.

In the past quilts have been given to recuperating soldiers, to hospices, care homes and despatched with international relief efforts. We have provided children's quilts to Project Linus and to premature baby units when requested.

If you are clearing out quilting fabric we are always interested in pieces of cotton fabric or large pieces of poly-cotton which can be used for backing.

In December 2018, sixteen quilts were given to "Faith in families Christmas Appeal" to be distributed to families in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

In 2019 ten more quilts were given to "Faith in families" as well as ten quilts to the Arena Food bank in Ilkeston and three to the Order of St Lazarus (a leprosy charity).

In 2021 quilts were given to Project Linus

In 2022 we have made 23 quilt hugs and 18 Morsbags for Quilts for Care leavers as well as quilts for Project Linus
